The Yahoo! announced on Monday (30) that there 10 applications are removing for mobile operating systems iOS , Android and BlackBerry . The former search leader took applications off air because of its new strategy, which will aim to rebuild its presence in the mobile market from scratch.
If you already have some of these applications installed, they will be working the same way as before, but you can no longer download them again. Yahoo! also announced that it will no longer support them. In the full list of 10 applications removed include: Yahoo! Meme (iPad and iPhone), Yahoo! Me (iPad), Yahoo! Answers (Android), Yahoo! AppSpot (Android and iPhone), Yahoo! Deals (iPhone), Yahoo ! Finance (BlackBerry), Yahoo! Movies (Android), Yahoo! News (Android), Yahoo! Shopping (iPhone) and Yahoo! Search-a-Sketch (iPad and iPhone).
Yahoo! tries to reimagine his entire image on mobile devices.
Like other sectors of the company, the search giant also failed to keep pace with fast changing world of technology with the rise of smartphones, and why the company barely has strength in that market.
The company says that its new products for mobile devices will be more mature and will bring new forms of media experience as personalized Livestand, and some other popular applications like Yahoo! Mail, Messenger, Flickr and Sportacular.
Part of that overhaul is because Yahoo has gone through some internal problems at the end of last year, such as the resignation of Carol Bartz, former CEO of the company, followed by admission of the new CEO, Scott Thompson, former president of PayPal What’s more, Yahoo still having problems to compete with big companies like Google and Facebook.
