Galaxy S II is already getting the new Android 4.0

Starting this Tuesday (13), owners of the smartphone Samsung Galaxy S II will begin to receive the long-awaited operating system upgrade Android to version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The update itself was informed by Samsung, through Facebook and Twitter in their statutory accounts.

 In a statement, Samsung makes it clear that the update will be delivered in stages, and the first countries to receive Android 4.0 will be South Korea, Poland, Hungary and Sweden.Users from other countries will receive the upgrade gradually, released after their respective regional settings and adjustments of the system, according to the needs of carriers.

Samsung also announced that the Ice Cream Sandwich for models Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be available at a later time.

Other updates were also announced, with updates for Android 2.3 Gingerbread for models Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab 7, Galaxy S Plus, Galaxy S SCL (Super Clear LCD) and Galaxy W  at the end of March. In this update, some improvements are made, such as unlocking the phone by identifying facial and photo editor.

As informed by Samsung itself, the update is available for few countries. Most significant markets such as Spain, Germany and Italy should receive the update next week.
