Files stored on the servers of Megaupload will be kept for at least another 15 days, guaranteed the company’s lawyer, Ira Rothken, in his Twitter account. Megaupload’s servers were seized for about two weeks by the FBI in an operation against piracy of content on the Internet.
The FBI had asked the hosting companies Carpathia Hosting and Cogent Communications delete the files from Megaupload next Thursday (02/02). However, according to Rothken, the two companies agreed to postpone for 15 days for the procedure that Megaupload can try for an agreement with the U.S. government.
There are about two weeks, the FBI seized the servers of Megaupload. In the same operation, were arrested four of the executives Megaupload, including the eccentric Kim DotCom.
