The game for iPhone, iPad and Android devices “Draw Something”, from OMGPOP reached 50 million downloads since its launch in February, becoming the fastest selling game on iTunes. About 13 million copies were bought only in the last week of March.
Ad-free version of “Draw Something”, is sold for 99 cent in iTunes and in Google Play for $ 1.81. A free version is also available.
Users of the app are given a choice of three words and can choose to draw one; this image is then sent to their friends, who have to guess what the doodle is. Users can connect to friends via Facebook or random players via Twitter. You must choose a theme for the design based on a difficulty level and the more difficult it is, the more coins the gamer wins, allowing buy new colors to draw.
According to OMGPOP 6 billion drawings have been sent since February, at an average of 3000 per second.
Draw Something was developed by OMGPOP before the company was acquired by gaming giant Zynga in March.
