Connector of iPad and iPhone may have its days numbered

According to the website iMore, citing an unidentified source, the Apple should replace the connector of your device for a “micro dock” soon. The reason is simple: take advantage of the space that holds the current number of internal components of devices.

The case is obvious: the case gets thinner, the faster processor, better screen and camera with more megapixels. But despite this progress in electronics from Apple, one thing has not followed the evolution of the company in microelectronics: the 30-pin connector for the charger cable and USB.Born in the era of iPods, it is present today on iPhones and iPads.

No wonder. Since the first iPods with 30-pin connector needed to accommodate the company appeared in space – smaller and smaller – more functions. The iPhone, for example, had to redesign the antenna, battery, the backlight of the screen and a retinal camera sensor to fit inside. All because Apple has established the need for compatibility with older accessories.

Another important factor is that now the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad can exist independently of a computer via cable. Today, with the possibility of iCloud and synchronization via Wi-Fi, there is no need to abuse the USB cable – regarrega just for them.

The news could come as the iPhone 5 , or whatever the name of the next smartphone giant’s Cupertino. Because, if the rumors prove accurate, we can have a device capable of using the LTE network, also called 4G, and this would require a new antenna.

The site iMore believes that the iPad 3 is not expected to have the new connector to be much larger and be with the imminent launch. In any event, the input may also not be Thunderbolt as Macs, since the devices do not use PCI-Express architecture. Neither the microUSB should also be as it is not so fast. We’ll have to wait until October, when Apple will most likely be the new iPhone.
